Data Recovery

Our process and price is determined by the amount of data that you want retrieved, as well as, the amount of corruption/errors and damage to drive.

Level I

We attempt to retrieve your data by connecting your drive to one of our in house servers. If we are able to recover the data, it is written to a CD. If the drive does not spin up or function, we go directly to Level III. If the drive does spin up but we still can't access the data, we move on to Level II.

Level II

Since the data was inaccessible on Level I, the next step is to use specialized software and/or methods, as well as data repair to retrieve your data. We then write the data to a CD.

Level III

At this level there has usually been a mechanical or electrical failure of the drive. The drive needs to be repaired before a Level I recovery can be performed, which means the electrical components may have to be opened in a vacuum sealed environment to determine the extent of the damage.

Footnotes:

Please note that Level III recovery involves disassembly of the hard drive, which in turn, voids the warrantee of the drive. Hard drive disassembly is a highly sensitive procedure and should only be preformed in a vacuum-sealed, static free environment. Hard drive retrieval is not guaranteed from any level of retrieval.

FYI when your hard drive fails:

• Avoid starting or rebooting computer.
• Shut down computer if you hear a clicking sound.
• Do not run any programs or try installing any software.
• Do not disassemble the computer or disconnect any cables.
• Do not run Scan Disk.
